About Yaletown

Influenced by the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway in the late 19th century, Yaletown historically served as a warehouse district. Into the 20th century business in B.C. was thriving especially in Vancouver. The thriving wholesale industry led to the expansion of the Yaletown warehouse district.

The logistics industry in Vancouver evolved with the arrival of commercial trucking. This moved industries away from railway centers and closer to highways. Yaletown sat idle for many years but has long since been revitalized as a unique heritage business community for urban professionals.
